Blue Water Farms is pleased to offer sessions to children ages 5-16 who are interested in learning about horses. Our camp focuses on teaching children what it is like to care for a horse of their own. Campers are introduced to their horse on the first day of camp. Throughout the week your child will learn all aspects of proper horsemanship. Camp will include daily lessons and afternoon bareback rides to teach campers balance and communication with their horse.
Blue Water Farm is conveniently located in Davie, Florida. Just minutes from I-75 and I-595. Our barn is home to 40 horses and ponies suitable for the beginner to advanced rider. The facility includes a lighted oversized arena with a full jump course to challenge even the most experienced rider. Blue Water Farm also has a separate beginner ring and round pen. We have a large air conditioned movie room to give the campers a chance to relax. Our facility also has a pool for our campers to cool off in. Our beautiful grounds are well manicured to provide a lovely setting for your child(ren) to spend their summer. The picnic area is cool and shady for campers to relax and enjoy their lunch. Snacks are provided daily. Campers need to bring their own lunch and drinks.
Our camp’s mission is to educate every camper on all aspects of horsemanship while providing a safe, fun and exciting atmosphere. Campers will make new friends and gain knowledge which will last a lifetime. We look forward to sharing our love of horses with your child.
The camp owner has over 30 years of experience breeding, raising, training, showing, boarding and instructing riders of all abilities. We specialize in Equitation, Hunt Seat, Jumpers, Dressage and Eventers. Our counselors and CIT’s are all trained equestrians who help demonstrate proper horse care and safety. All Blue Water Farms’ counselors hold current Red Cross certification and we also have a certified water safety instructor on our summer staff.
Activities that we’d like to mention: making horse cookies, field trips, swimming every day, horsey crafts every week, horseless horse shows and other horse games, riding twice a day, learning about horse anatomy and behavior, learning about tack and equitation; making lasting friendships and incredible memories together.
